We returned to Ukraine on Tuesday morning, we arrived in Matthew's birth region Crimea, flying into Simferpol.
We hit the ground running (again), after realizing our luggage was not with us, we quickly filed our missing luggage report and headed out to the place to get Matthew's new birth certificate. That was done in very quick time, a bit over an hour? Our facilitator told us the lady who did it actually did her a huge favor and came in on her vacation day to do this for us. THANKYOU!!
We then drove back to Kherson where we were staying, well Jason and I slept and we were driven :). We headed to get his tax ID # and then to the notary.
Sherry Duval was at the orphanage that day so we stopped by for a few minutes for our facilitator to talk with her about her visit.
Then off to our apartment..... to have a bite to eat and SLEEP!!
Day 2-
We picked up Matthew at the orphanage and went right to the Passport office. We were there a bit early so we walked around a park and Matthew rode on an electric car, he LOVED it, I'm told he talked about it all afternoon!!
Then we went to get the Passport papers and pictures done. After the passports we took Matthew out for a dessert at a local cafe. He had orange juice and chocolate cake!! We are pretty sure this was his first restaurant EVER! He has super good table manners, he will be able to teach his brothers a thing or two for sure!! :) He was just so cute this day....
Day 3
We went to the bank to get Matthew's account emptied. All that entailed was signing a bunch of papers, in the end all the money goes back to the orphanage.
The rest of the afternoon we spent with Matthew at the orphanage.
They are on fall vacation (aka no school) so we were able to visit for 4 hours vs. 2 this day!!
Day 4
We visited with Matthew again for about 4 hours.
When we arrived his groupa had walked (or rolled their wheelchairs) over to the nearby market. We met them on their way back.
Now it is the weekend and we will not see Matthew until Monday.
However-- Monday is a BIG BIG BIG DAY!! Monday we get Matthew OUT OF THAT ORPHANAGE FOREVER!!!!
Monday we will take the overnight train back to Kiev the capital city to get ready for our US Embassy appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday (hopefully).

Super exciting! Today is Monday, so I pray you're having a great Gotcha Day!!
