It was DELICIOUS as always!
The decor was EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful.....they decorated with quilts!! Not just any quilts...
The ladies of our church make (yes MAKE) a quilt for every baby that is born and every wedding that occurs!! Our church is fairly small... 10-12 families? They have only been meeting for 6-7 years-- and 2 walls were COVERED!! (and the quilts were folded)!! This church family LOVE life-- ALL lives-- and CHILDREN ARE TRULY SEEN AS A BLESSING... not a CURSE, not a HINDRANCE... not something to be AVOIDED, not something to be LEFT in an ORPHANAGE!!
I love that whether a family is announcing baby #1 or baby #8 there is REJOICING!!
So today they made our sweety a pillow QUILT!! To say he LOVES it is an understatement!!
He can feel the love that was put into this.... :) Here is your HUG back..... :)

Yes and when we got home we went through the cards that were made and given to him... the smiles on his face were PRICELESS...wish I could've snapped more pictures but I was busy translating each card with our IPhone translator. :)

This was a little note he had stashed in his shirt pocket, I am not sure who it is from (he cannot tell me of course).... but he thinks it is super special!! :)
And as my husband gave thanks to our church family -- and almost made me cry a big UGLY cry-- we are SOOOO THANKFUL for them-- and they REALLY are the ONLY family Matthew knows at this point. (he has not yet met any extended family-- adoption really shows who stands by you and who does not...that is for sure). And FOR SURE-- our church family STANDS beside us and behind us... as have many friends.... WE THANK EACH OF YOU!!!!

Here are few pictures from LAST Sunday-- Matthew's first Sunday at our church.
This young man befriended Matthew the Saturday before during a Men's work day-
All the kids really accepted him like he has always been there-- kind of like how we feel-- it is REALLY like he BELONGS here and has ALWAYS been here.
Have to add I am so thankful for the young people at this church.
A few young people came up to me and asked... "Mrs. Collins, your son... what is his health condition?" "Oh and what does that mean?" "And how does that happen?" "And will he get better?" "Does it hurt?" "Will he ever walk?"
They came to me and asked such great questions, instead of just staring and being afraid-- they now UNDERSTAND more and I think THAT is what has made them MUCH more comfortable around him.
PS: I love that when they asked me.. they said "your son!!" That is the best part!! :)
