Day 7 - on the playground

The orphanage has one very nice playground.  I found out it was donated and built by some Americans that had adopted from that orphanage 5+ years ago but came back to build this.  It is very nice.

Dima and has Papa played "jeep" many many many many many times.   It was a remote controlled jeep but the gears are all out already (hmmm I think we have a few like that at home, must be a BOY thing)  lol  So they didn't let that stop them they played and laughed and laughed!!!

This was the ramp they were playing "jeep" on.  You can't see Dima -- he is hiding behind the red wall.

When we first went out to the playground he "WOW'ed" us with his strong arms as he preformed MANY tricks on these ropes!  Very strong young boy!!  :)
Wondering how much feeling he has in his bottom ( sadly) because he hit the ground a few times and did not flinch at all.  ??

Then Dima sat on the merry go round and Jason pushed him-- he loved it-- actually he loved taking pictures on her-- wheww some interesting pictures!!  Then he and his Papa had a "High 5" competition as they passed each other.  Lots of laughing... not a whole lot of talking.... but still breaking in some bonding!!  :)

Think he is a happy boy?    We sure are!!!

Todays visit went very well we spent the whole day outside-- it was a beautiful day!!   It was just the 3 of us for a majority of the visit.  Not a whole lot of communication-- but a few things--  Jason is working thru a little "Russian for Children" book-- we hope to use some of that next week.

Also we were directed to a program "Rush into English" which is to be very good for children 4-teens to help them, I hope to order this tomorrow.

After talking with some other adoptive moms, my only slight concern is we have not hugged or anything yet...but he doesn't seem like an overly touchy child....and either is our family so it is "okay"... but we want him to know we do LOVE him.   We'll see what next week holds!!  "da!"

We talked to him about some of his friends who went to America-- and he said "ya to Americo" and I said "Yes, Dima is going to Americo with Papa and Mama, ya?"  And he ignored me and kept playing- so I repeated 3x...no reply either time...  we will work on that.   We KNOW he likes us and has fun with us... we just want to be sure he KNOWS he is going to be part of OUR family, leaving the orphanage-- coming WITH US.   We are not staying there EVERY day to visit with him forever.  It is a lot for a little boy.   He has seen our family photo book--and our facilitator asked him if he is excited and he said "da!!  da !"  So that is good.

Just trying to keep it all honest and clear here-- I hope to keep this blog and have it printed when we get home!!
